If you are a golfer and spent some time at Winchester, The Old Wykehamist Golfing Society welcomes OWs of all abilities.
We organise a number of matches and golf days throughout the year at a variety of prestigious courses.
The society has a calendar involving some 20 fixtures, the majority of which are open to all members of the society. Some of these are matches against the host clubs, some are matches against other Old Boys sides (Bradfield, Eton, Malvern, Westminster etc) and some are meetings for OWs only.
We also enter several representative competitions (including the Halford Hewitt and Grafton Morrish) and there are selection processes for these teams.
Annual subscription for the society is £25 per year. Match fees are also payable for each event which can vary depending on the number of rounds / lunch involved. However, we have a fund which is used to subsidise the cost of some meetings for younger members/university students.
So, if you want to play golf in a convivial atmosphere on some of the country’s best courses with a group of like-minded individuals concerned as much with enjoying a day out as with the actual quality of the golf, then please get involved.
