A glorious sunny spring day at Royal St GeorgeÕs. Wonderful all round. Apart from the score.
The OW side could probably have made a decent fist of playing in the Cricketer Cup with luminaries such as James Irvine-Fortescue, Ed Craig, Jeremy Wilkins, Tristan Hanson and Ryan OÕKeeffe in attendance alongside the match manager. Sadly though, for the match stats at least, we werenÕt playing cricket. In the morning, all the matches were close but only James IF on debut managed a point. Fortified by lunch the Wykehamists went out in buoyant moodÉ but the scoring was much the same: Tim RoRo and David Hough securing our only point, showing you canÕt beat a bit of experience and quality) meaning an overall 8-2 defeat, much against the grain of recent results in this fixture. Admittedly most of the Westminster team played pretty well against handicapÉ the overall standard of golf from the Wykehamists was not too bad.
It was great to see James IF and Jeremy making their debut and Ryan playing his second match. The Society is all about getting more people involved to enjoy days like Saturday: good golf, food and company!
